The UK Visa Sponsorship Management System (SMS) is an official online management platform provided by the UK government for licensed employers and educational institutions, enabling them to fulfil their various legal obligations throughout the visa sponsorship process.

Eligibility for Use

You must hold a valid UK sponsor licence to access and use the system.

Eligible users include:

• UK employers who hire holders of Worker or Temporary Worker visas

• Educational institutions that enrol holders of Student or Child Student visas

Core Functions of the System

The SMS is primarily used for the following key operations:

Manage Licences and Services

• Manage or renew your organisation’s sponsor licence and related services.

Manage Employee Visas

• Create and assign Certificates of Sponsorship to prospective employees (for Worker or Temporary Worker visa applications).

Manage Student Visas

• Create and assign Confirmations of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to prospective students (for student visa applications).

Report Changes of Circumstances

• Report changes in the circumstances of your sponsored employees or students, such as role changes, academic progress, absences, or even withdrawal of sponsorship.

• Report changes to your own organisation’s circumstances, such as a change of ownership or a new business location.
