Overview
Part of Global Business Mobility route
For tripartite arrangements between overseas employer, UK sponsor, and secondee
Based on high-value commercial contracts (≥£50 million)
Temporary work arrangement only
Eligibility Requirements
Employment:
Current employee of overseas business
High-value contract (≥£50 million) between overseas employer and UK sponsor
Must have Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) from UK sponsor
Work Experience:
≥12 months employment with overseas employer outside UK
Job Role:
Must be on eligible occupations list
Visa Duration & Restrictions
Initial visa: 12 months maximum (CoS period + 14 days)
Extensions: 12 months (one extension possible)
Total maximum stay: 2 years
Global Business Mobility limit: 5 years across all relevant visas in any 6-year period
Key Restrictions:
❌ No settlement pathway
❌ No secondary employment
❌ Cannot change jobs (without visa update)
❌ No public funds
Costs & Financial Requirements
Application fee: £319
Immigration Health Surcharge: £1,035/year
Maintenance funds: £1,270 (held 28 days before application)
Exempt if sponsor certifies support for first month
Application Process & Documents
Earliest application: 3 months before work start date
Processing times:
Outside UK: 3 weeks
Inside UK: 8 weeks
Required Documents:
Valid passport
CoS reference number
12-month overseas employment proof (payslips/bank statements)
Financial evidence
TB certificate (if required)

Visa Maintenance
Extension Requirements:
Continue working for same UK sponsor
Same commercial contract basis
Within maximum stay limits
Role Changes: Must update visa if SOC code changes
Switching to This Visa:
Possible from most UK visas (except Visitor/Short-term Student/Seasonal Worker etc.)
Student visa holders: Must complete course OR PhD with 24+ months study
Dependants
Eligible: Spouse/civil partner/unmarried partner/children under 18
Relationship evidence required
Additional funds required:
Partner: £285
First child: £315
Each additional child: £200
Rights: Work (except professional sport) and study
Important Notes
Contract threshold: £50 million value is mandatory requirement
Travel restriction: Cannot leave Common Travel Area while application pending
Sensitive research: ATAS certificate may be required for PhD-level sensitive subjects
