Overview
For specific seasonal work in UK
Replaces former T5 (Temporary Worker - Seasonal Worker) visa
No dependants allowed
Work Types & Duration
Horticulture (fruit/vegetable/flower picking): Max 6 months
Poultry: Only 2 Oct - 31 Dec annually
Application Timeline
Earliest application: 3 months before work start date (shown on Certificate of Sponsorship)
Poultry workers: Must apply by 15 November annually
Processing: Usually 3 weeks after online application + identity verification + document submission
Costs & Financial Requirements
Application fee: £319
Maintenance funds: £1,270 personal savings
Held for 28 consecutive days
28-day period ends within 31 days of application
Exempt if sponsor certifies support for first month (up to £1,270)
Visa Validity, Rights & Restrictions
Stay Duration:
Horticulture: 6 months maximum
Poultry: 2 Oct - 31 Dec only
Arrival in UK: From visa start date (up to 14 days before work starts)
Permitted:
✓ Work described in Certificate of Sponsorship
✓ Study (ATAS certificate may be required for some courses)
Not Permitted:
✗ Permanent employment
✗ Second job/unspecified work
✗ Public funds
✗ Bring dependants
Eligibility Requirements
Aged 18+ at application
Valid Certificate of Sponsorship reference number
Sufficient funds (unless sponsor supported)
Employer must:
Pay at least UK National Minimum Wage
Comply with weekly working hours regulations
Certificate of Sponsorship
Electronic reference number (not physical document)
Valid for 3 months from issue date
One-time use for visa application

Valid passport/travel document (with blank page)
Financial evidence (unless sponsor supported)
Certified translations for non-English/Welsh documents
