C4.76 University of Cambridge Donations¶
I remember I shared the story of donating money to the University of Cambridge before, but I just searched for it and couldn't find it, so I'll briefly talk about it. In fact, every university can adopt this model. For well-known examples, you can search online for news about how many tycoons and wealthy people at home and abroad have donated large sums of money to prestigious schools to get their children admitted.
- Small donations to the University of Cambridge are generally made directly to specific colleges, while large donations go to the entire University of Cambridge. A small donation usually refers to around several million pounds.
- Establish a foundation at your alma mater college (or through relatives or friends who graduated from Cambridge), then put the donation into it. The college will assign special personnel to manage the foundation and regularly invite the founder and donors to the college to explain the use of funds, etc.
- The committee recommends places for children's admission, usually several places. In general, candidates with recommendations are given priority for admission.
Many prestigious schools at home and abroad, including primary schools, junior high schools and senior high schools, have similar situations. A fee similar to a sponsorship fee is required, and usually only parents who are alumni or have a very high reputation level are eligible for priority. In addition to interviewing parents, prestigious schools also require recommendation letters from celebrities or people with a sufficiently high status.
Of course, geniuses and students with extremely excellent academic performance are not within the scope of this discussion. For example, if a student is outstanding enough, prestigious schools will compete to offer scholarships of hundreds of thousands or even millions of pounds to invite the student to enroll, and also provide various benefits to retain the student.
