How to apply for the UK ID Card (Citizen Card) – a temporary emergency identity document?
This is a temporary UK identity card with a validity period of three years, which can be renewed and replaced upon expiration. Anyone can apply for it, and the card is recognized by the UK police. It is available in both physical and electronic versions, and can be used for:
Buying lottery tickets
Watching movies
Taking domestic flights
Purchasing age-restricted items
Entering casinos
Attending festivals and events
Job hunting
Entering bars, nightclubs, and clubs, etc.
The entire application process for the identity card is conducted online. The standard application fee is £15, with a maximum processing time of 21 days. For urgent applications, the fee is £30, and the processing time is 1-2 working days

It is issued in 3 age categories:
Adults "18+"
Young people aged 16 and above "16-17"
Children "Under 16"
Based on the age classification, retailers and venue staff can easily determine whether a person is of the required age to purchase age-restricted goods or enter the premises.
This card is widely recognized as the most accepted photo ID in the UK. It can help prove age and identity when visiting venues, shopping, or using services such as transportation.
Note: This is a temporary emergency ID card and cannot replace a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). It is only accepted in certain places, and many establishments do not recognize it. The BRP is the only official identity document designated and approved by the UK government
