C2.8 Oyster card

London Oyster Card

The London Oyster card can be used on almost all public transport in London, such as the Tube, buses, trams, and more, often with discounted fares.

  1. A deposit is required, which is refundable when you no longer      need the card.

  2. It can be purchased at almost all London Underground stations,      online via the official website, or at some convenience stores displaying      the Oyster card sales sign.

  3. You can top it up at station ticket machines, officially      online, or by linking it to a credit card for automatic top-ups (remember      to cancel this if you no longer need it).

  4. The card and any remaining credit/deposit can be refunded at      Tube station ticket offices.

Reminder: If you are studying in the UK and spending a significant amount of time in London, it is recommended to link your Railcard to your Oyster card to benefit from additional discounts.
