Passport – if it is close to expiry, try to renew it in your home country beforehand

Offer letter

Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)

Accommodation address, including full address and contact telephone number

University contact details, such as the university address and telephone number

Passport-sized photographs – bring seaveral with different coloured clothing

Various certificates, e.g. diploma, IELTS results, proof of funds

Temporary medication or doctor’s note

Pounds sterling and Renminbi cash, in notes and coins

Translated driving licence, if planning to drive in the UK short-term with a Chinese licence

Plug adapters and charging cables

etc.

 

Remember to use the toilet in advance – queuing at the border can sometimes take hours depending on the situation.
